I don’t think the “death of the internet” is quite the right diagnosis. What we’re seeing feels more like a collapse of categories — a shift in typification — where the big, legacy channels of attention are eroding simply because attention itself has become scarce. As that scarcity intensifies, people move toward smaller, more human spaces where genuine connection feels possible again.

Parasocial bonds fill the gap: not always healthy, but undeniably real in their emotional texture. The internet isn’t dead

it’s overgrown. Dense, tangled, full of slop and signal at the same time. And beneath the decay of the old structures, entire communities are quietly forming around meaning, intimacy, and shared curiosity.

Also loved the Matrix nod — the metaphor still hits, maybe now more than ever.

I love how you refer to cartoons to explain the deeper meaning behind things. I have always felt there is something to learn from Looney Tunes
